FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What Makes Our Teeth Cleaning Safe and Effective?
- No Anaesthesia Required: Unlike traditional dental cleanings that require anaesthesia, our ultrasonic method is safe, non-invasive, and doesn’t involve the stress of sedation for your dog.
- Gentle yet Thorough: The ultrasonic technology uses vibrations to break down plaque and tartar buildup, allowing us to clean your dog’s teeth without causing discomfort.
- Best for Healthy Teeth: This method is particularly effective for dogs with healthy teeth and gums. We can safely clean teeth without causing any harm, enhancing overall oral hygiene.
Is It Right for Your Dog?
While our ultrasonic teeth cleaning service works wonders for many dogs, it may not be suitable for all. For dogs that are unable to sit still during the procedure, we may need to recommend an alternative. Additionally, in cases where there is significant dental disease, such as infected gums or advanced tooth decay, we strongly recommend a visit to your vet. Regular veterinary check-ups are vital for more severe dental issues, as they may require treatments beyond ultrasonic cleaning.
When Should You Visit the Vet?
- Signs of Gum Disease: If your dog is experiencing red, swollen, or bleeding gums, it could be a sign of gum disease, which may require a vet's intervention.
- Severe Plaque or Tartar Buildup: In cases of advanced tartar or plaque buildup that can’t be removed through ultrasonic cleaning alone, your vet may recommend a professional dental cleaning under anaesthesia.
- Pain or Discomfort: If your dog shows signs of discomfort while chewing, has bad breath, or has noticeable tooth loss, it’s important to seek professional dental care.
Why Regular Teeth Cleaning Matters
Just like us, dogs need regular dental care to prevent long-term issues like periodontal disease, which can lead to tooth loss and affect their overall health. Dental problems in dogs have been linked to other health conditions, including heart disease, kidney issues, and diabetes, so keeping their teeth clean is crucial.
This service can help your dog maintain a beautiful smile while also protecting their overall health. If you have any concerns or your dog shows signs of dental issues, our team is always here to guide you in the best direction!
FURTHER INSIGHT INTO GROOMING TECHNIQUES
Hand Stripping
Hand stripping is a specialized grooming technique designed for dogs with wiry coats, such as terriers and some sporting breeds. Unlike traditional clipping or trimming, hand stripping involves carefully plucking the dead outer coat by hand or using a stripping knife. This method preserves the natural texture and color of the coat, promotes healthy new growth, and maintains the breed's traditional appearance.
Hand stripping is typically recommended every few months to ensure the coat remains in top condition. It is an essential part of grooming for certain breeds, as it helps maintain the coat's integrity and prevents matting.
For the best results and to ensure a comfortable experience for your dog, it is always advised to have hand stripping done by a professional groomer who is trained in this technique.
Scissor Cut
Scissor cutting is a refined grooming technique often used for dogs with long, curly, or flowing coats. This method involves carefully trimming and shaping the fur with scissors to achieve the desired length and style. It offers precise control, allowing the groomer to create a tailored, neat, and polished appearance that enhances the dog’s natural features.
Scissor cuts are particularly ideal for dogs whose coats require a gentle, customised touch. This technique ensures a smooth, well-balanced finish and is often used to maintain an elegant and healthy look. Regular grooming with scissor cuts helps preserve the overall health of the coat, keeping it looking fresh, neat, and beautiful.
Clipping
Clipping is a versatile grooming technique commonly used for dogs with thick, dense, or matted coats. This method involves the use of electric clippers with various blade lengths, allowing the groomer to trim the fur to a specific length based on the dog’s breed and desired style, whether shorter for a neat, practical look or longer for a fuller, well-maintained appearance.
Clipping is highly effective in managing a dog’s coat, helping to reduce shedding, prevent matting, and ensure the dog stays cool and comfortable, particularly in warmer weather. Regular clipping not only helps keep the coat tidy but also supports its health by preventing tangles and making grooming sessions more manageable.
Close Clipping
Close clipping is a specialised grooming technique used for dogs with severely matted coats. This method requires time, patience, and careful handling of the clippers to gently remove the matted fur as close to the skin as possible. It’s a delicate process, as it aims to carefully free the coat from mats without causing discomfort or harm to the dog.
While close clipping is an effective solution for dogs with heavy matting, it’s important to note that this procedure requires the expertise of a professional groomer to ensure it’s done safely and effectively. After the mats are removed, the coat is left clean, and the dog will feel much more comfortable.
Dematting
Dematting your dog’s fur requires extra care and attention. Our skilled groomers will assess the condition of your dog's coat to determine the best approach for safely removing tangles and mats. It's important to bring your dog in for grooming without severe matting, as excessive tangles can cause discomfort, skin irritation, and potential health issues.
Please note, we can only spend a maximum of 30 minutes on dematting. Any longer could lead to unnecessary discomfort for your pet, and continuing past this time may be considered unethical. If mats are still present after this period, we will recommend a close clip to safely start fresh and ensure your dog’s well-being.
Note: additional time used for dematting will incur an additional fee of £20 - £30
Two Groomers
In certain situations, we may require the assistance of two groomers to provide the best care for your dog. This could be due to factors such as your dog’s large size, severe matting or tangling, behavioural traits, anxiety, or other considerations. Having two groomers allows us to ensure that the grooming process is carried out safely, efficiently, and with the highest level of quality, while minimising stress and ensuring your dog's comfort.
Note: A second groomer will incur a fee of £30 to £60 in addition to the grooming fee.

Xena Neysha
I booked a grooming session for my Pomeranian Neysha today, and the service was absolutely amazing! The results were nothing short of spectacular. The lady who took care of my dog was incredibly meticulous and thorough. She asked me a lot of questions and even requested pictures to make sure she fully understood what I wanted. She also took extra care to ensure that the grooming wouldn’t damage the quality of my Pomeranian’s fur. I was genuinely impressed by her dedication and commitment to excellence and Neysha didn’t want to leave afterwards. The results were flawless, and I couldn’t be happier! I’m so glad I found this place, and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet, definitely worth it!

Mariam El-Banna
Took my kitten for his first-ever groom to introduce him to the whole process. The ladies were lovely and incredibly understanding, knowing this was his first time. They agreed they would only take him as far as he was comfortable, and since he has such a lovely and pleasant disposition, I was a bit worried that a negative experience might shake him.
However, all concerns were put to rest when I came to collect him. They showed me photos and little videos — he did so well! And when I brought him home, he was just as confident, friendly, and relaxed as ever.
Super happy with the service, and I’ll definitely be bringing him back for his regular grooming.
